Learn More On Bouncing A Check/Cheque

by Admin on March 5, 2009

Getting all fees that comes from check bouncing is very costly to be paid, and this would burden us to get the problem cleared. But however, should you have to also put up with private company to track you down that asking you to attend their very costly personal finance classes to get rid of any prosecution?

Bankaholic.com wrote that in 2006, the Congress passed a law that allow district attorney’s office to hire private companies to pursue bad checks. According to Cnn.com, the company called American Corrective Counseling Services now has contracts to do just than 17 states. In addition regarding posted article, ACCS splits all money it collects to cover the bad checks and fees with the prosecutor’s office. But it also makes money from financial management courses that cost another $160, and that they are required to attend the counseling at their own expense.

Jennifer Osborn, a California student who bounced a $92 check to her college bookstore, told CNN that the ASCS courses are “boring…pointless.” But the company’s contract with at least one prosecutor states those classes are its “principal business activity.” - Bankaholic.com

To be in real, getting a private company to persue bad checks had no different compare to having a collection agency pursue bad credit card debt. Such action should be neccessary, but unpleasant to those who had little amount of bouncing check. What happen to those who just got only $15 charged? Think about it.
